Please view large to appreciate the texture of the snow. Thanks!

This is an image from this past winter. I have another shot in my stream from earlier this same morning that has actually turned out to be one of my bigger earners. Well, after digging around in the archives I came across this one from a few minutes later that morning. It's a bit wider of a view than the other and I think I prefer it compositionally. On this particular morning I had forgotten all my filters at home after cleaning them the evening before and had to resort to bracketing exposures and making a manual blend. This is three exposures, one for the foreground, one for the sky, and one for the forest in the midground. Normally a third exposure for the midground wouldn't be necessary, but I used it to help control some of the sunrise light on the right side bleeding into the darker areas of forest below it. Compared to the other shot from this morning, this version has a significantly brighter sky, which I fell better represents the scene. Over all I prefer this image to the other, though in both versions I would have liked to have the darker icy areas in the fg coming in from the corners, but it just wasn't a possibility. I can't wait to shoot this place again this (quickly) coming winter. Thanks for checking it out everyone.
